One of the most poignant pieces of advice I received early in my call was…stay calm, stay connected, stay the course.
Think about that? Stay CALM. That ability to develop an attitude of confidence – in who God is and what He has called us to. When you are fully convinced, as He is, your feathers will be ruffled less. Why get frantic when God is in control?
Stay CONNECTED. People are God’s number one resource. But may I remind you, stay connected with NOT just any kind of people, but Godly, healthy, kingdom-minded people. We all need others, but others who are NOT self-serving, and who don’t take sides, because they are on God’s side.
And finally, stay the COURSE. A Kingdom heart set is a Kingdom mind set. As Brian Piccolo would say to his good friend, Hall of Fame Football Player, Gale Sayers, “You can’t quit. It’s a league rule.” May I take it one step further, it’s a Kingdom Rule. As I say often, “Starters are a dime a dozen, but finishers are one in a million.” Live that one-in-a-million faith.
