Sometimes life has this way of making us feel trapped, hopeless – as if there’s no way out. It can leave us walking the floors and wondering, “How in the world did I end up here?”
I think this is precisely what Jairus must have felt in the sickness of his little girl. She was sick and about to die. His entire world was crashing down.
But as family and friends gathered, Jairus took one last chance, one last risk, one last hope – instead of walking the floors, he ran to Jesus – and fell at His feet. “My little girl is dying. Please come and put Your hands on her so that she will be healed and live” (Mark 5:23 NIV). However, when Jesus arrived, it was too late, the little girl had died.
Now, imagine the grief – the air flooded with sorrow around those gathered. “Why all this commotion and wailing?” Jesus asked. “This child is not dead, but asleep” (Mark 5:39 NIV). The mourners laughed. So, Jesus cleared the room. He then took the girl’s hand and spoke – and immediately she got up on her feet.
Now, I do not know what you have been facing – what you have been dealing with, but whatever it could be, Jesus is not finished. Do you believe that?
For what you believe is how you will behave.
May I encourage you, clear the room of any and all distractions, and let the giver of life take you by the hand and breath life.
You see, I can guarantee, when Jesus is involved, there is always a chance for a miracle.
