Joseph Campbell said, “We must be willing to let go of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us” – and may I add, the one God has planned for us. Think about that?
But it’s true, isn’t it? We can easily become obsessed by what we THINK we may lose, what we will have to give up, that it blinds us from what we WILL gain. So, we fear. We fret. We hold onto what we have, all the time missing out of what God has planned for us.
But may I remind you, we are called to do just that, to step out and trust – to walk by faith.
The writer of Hebrews tells us that “faith shows us the reality of what we hope for; and is the evidence of things we cannot see” (Hebrews
I guarantee, that in Christ, though we may not be able to see in the immediate, it is always worth a step of faith for the eternal impact. In short, I promise you His gain for you far outweighs any possible loss to you. He’s worth it.
And can I tell you why I think many have a hard time with this, taking that step of faith, trusting God with everything? It’s the past. We get so imprisoned by what has been, we give up what could be. But that is why Jesus went to the cross. To free us, and then, move us to a life of faith.
