“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night” (Psalm 1:1-2).
Like a cow chewing its cud – we are to be with God’s Word. That’s what it means to ‘meditate.’ We are to taste, enjoy, savor His Word.
Day AND night, it does our soul good and brings us joy, confidence, growth and satisfaction.
So, how are you doing? Have you reduced your reading to a mere devotional? Simply reading and moving on?
That’s not what the Psalmist was suggesting. But rather, take your time. Go over and back over it. Soaking it in. Pondering it. Asking God to help you grasp each word and its significance.
My friends, the Word of God is essential, especially in our world today.
May I encourage you, start meditating on it, and witness what the Lord will do.
