We read in the book of Proverbs, “Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance” (Proverbs 1:5).
Anyone who knows me knows that I love learning. My daddy always told me, “The moment you stop learning, you just died – whether physically or spiritually.”
So, with that being said, allow me to offer 3 key truths about learning:
First of all, if you are always learning, you will never really FAIL. Thomas Edison once quipped, “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with a 1,000 steps.” Helen Keller would agree, “Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood.” So may I encourage you, keep your nose in a book and your mind open to learning.
Secondly, if you are always learning, you will never really FALL behind. New ideas, new concepts, and new nuggets of wisdom are always a step in the right direction, but also one step ahead of everyone else who already thinks they know.
And thirdly, if you are always learning, you will never be paralyzed by FEAR. The way to overcome fear is by growing your faith. For the more you grow in understanding, the less you will be captured by non-reality. For you see, fear is not real, it’s just an illusion, and the more you grow, the less it has a grip.
